LINDA believes in supporting local families

The cost of living is pushing many of our best and brightest to the mainland. The biggest cost for most is housing. We must stop the brain drain of our community.

This past session, Rep. Clark worked with colleagues to secure $1 billion in funds to help with rent relief and affordable housing. This unprecedented funding will result in thousands of new units across the State.

Rep. Clark also supported:

  • $600 million to the Department of Hawaiian Homelands to alleviate the long-standing waitlist.

  • $320 million into the Rental Housing Revolving Fund and Dwelling Unit Revolving Fund, to assist housing for working families.

  • $5 million to the Affordable Homeownership Revolving Fund to provide gap financing for for-sale housing.

  • $15 million for the Ohana Zone pilot program and further extending the program until 2026. These funds will be used for temporary shelter, permanent transitional housing, and services.

We must give the next generation a chance to succeed.

Working for the needs of our keiki:

  • Expansion of broadband access and establishing a $7 million Digital Learning Center within DOE, which will assist rural communities.

  • Cool our classrooms by funding air conditioning, HVAC and electrical upgrades for public schools.

  • Supported early learning by funding $200 million to build more preschools and $6.9 million for preschool subsidies for working families.

  • Recruit and retain high-quality teachers by fixing inequities in salary schedules and providing incentives in hard-to-fill positions.
